Chocolate-Covered Toffee
 

1 cup plus 1/3 cup (total 1 1/3 cups) semisweet chocolate morsels
1/3 cup  plus 1/3 cup (total 2/3 cup) pecans, chopped
2 cups butter (or margarine
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup water

 
 

    1. Mix 1/3 cup of morsels and 1/3 cup pecans
    2. Spread onto a lightly greased 15" by 10" pan
    3. Melt butter in saucepan
    4. Gradually stir in sugar and water.
    5. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until temperature is "Hard Crack" (300 F)
    6. Pour over mixture in pan
    7. Carefully spread to edges.
    8. Let stand 1 minute
    9. Sprinkle remaining morsels
    10. When slightly melted, spread evenly over toffee
    11. Sprinkle on remaining pecans
    12. Let cool
    13. Break into bite size pieces
