Little Rummies
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2  cups flour

Filling
1/4 cup butter (softened)
1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
1 tablespoon rum
ground nutmeg
 

  1. Beat butter and sugars, until fluffy
  2. Add egg, salt and vanilla, mix well
  3. Add flour and beat until mixed
  4. Cover and chill 1 hour
  5. Shape into 1" balls
  6. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet
  7. Press thumb gently in center of each cookie
  8. Bake at 350 F for 12 minutes
  9. Cool on sheet for several minutes, than transfer to wire rack

  10. Filling

  11. Place butter and sugar in small bowl
  12. Beat until fluffy
  13. Add rum and beat well
  14. Spoon into center of cookies
  15. Sprinkle with nutmeg
  16. Chill until filling is firm
