Cheese Straws
           
          Cheese Straws
          1 pound shredded sharp cheddar cheese
          1/2 cup butter, softened
          1 1/3 cups flour
          1/2 teaspoon red pepper
           
           
          1. Combine cheese and butter in large bowl
          2. Beat at medium speed until blended
          3. Gradually add flour, mixing until blended
          4. Stir in pepper
          5. Press dough through a cookie press, using saw-tooth tip
          6. make long strips on an ungreased cookie sheet
          7. Cut into 2 inch strips
          8. Bake at 350 F for 15 to 17 minutes
          9. Remove from cookie sheet
          10. Cool on wire racks
          11. Store in airtight container
