1/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup canned pumpkin
3/4 cup milk
1 cup flour
3/4 cup Plus a little extra cornmeal
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup walnuts, chopped
halved walnuts for garnish
Grease a nine inch cast iron skillet Dust with extra cornmeal Combine butter, sugar and eggs in a large mixing bowl Mix well Add pumpkin and milk, mix well In a second bowl combine flour, cornmeal, allspice, baking soda and baking powder. Add pumpkin mixture Stir until just blended Stir in chopped walnuts Pour into skillet Garnish with walnut halves Bake at 375o F for 45 minutes, test for doneness using a toothpick Serve warm
