Candied Apples


2 cups  sugar
2 cups light corn syrup
1/3 cup cinnamon candies or red hots
1 cup  water
1/2 tablespoons red food coloring
1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
6 medium size apple, rinsed and dried (delicious works best)
6 popsicle sticks
 

1. Place sugar, corn syrup, candy, and  water in heavy saucepan
2. Cook over medium heat until sugar and candy has dissolved. (do not let boil)
3. Add food coloring and cinnamon, bring to boil
4. Allow to boil until temperature reaches 300o F
5. While coating is cooking place sticks in apples, and grease cookie sheet
6. Dip apples into coating, then place on cookie sheet to cool.
